To see the Summer Sky
To see the Summer Sky
Is Poetry, though never in a Book it lie --
True Poems flee –
by Emily Dickinson (1830-1886)
My Aunt Eleanor planted this beautiful flower arrangement.
"Summer afternoon summer afternoon;
to me those have always been
the two most beautiful words
in the English language."
Henry James (1843 - 1916)
Blackberries in Late July
 Rest is not idleness, and
to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day
listening to the murmur of water,
or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is hardly a waste of time.
John Lubbock (1834 - 1913)
Eleanor's Vegetable Garden
 "I question not if thrushes sing,
If roses load the air;
Beyond my heart I need not reach
When all is summer there."
John Vance Cheney (1848 - 1922)

A Summer Day
 A Summer’s Day
Dabbled shadows moving in a cool breeze
The sound of a single buzzing fly
Colors of green accented with their bright companions
The warm smell of blackberries
What do you miss?

I'm so glad flowers are reappearing and birds have returned. I really miss them in the quiet of winter. We've been up at the cabin more, so Internet access is limited to town trips. Glad to see you are still blogging. - Margy
