Do You Have Too Many Books?

You can never have to many books. Here’s some great ways to store them.

For this table you would have to glue the angled books.
I looked at how these tables were made. The artist had placed the top books over a piece of ply wood. The ply wood was wrapped with old book spines in order to hide it.Then the top was placed on piles of books. If you didn't want to use your books again you could glue them together for added strength and stability.

Simple Book Table
I would place a glass or plexiglass top over the books so you wouldn't have to worry about destroying any of them.

Wouldn't this idea make for a cute desk?

Or a fun side table?

My Aunts Succulent Garden

I don't need to say much about these pictures except how I like the way my Aunt put together these beautiful pots of succulents. She has used unusual combinations of things to get a wonderful effect.

Hornby Island, Canada

Hornby Island

I visit Hornby Island as often as I can. I have so many wonderful memories there. I have been lucky to have my Aunt and Uncle and wonderful cousins living on Hornby since I was a little girl. I used to visit them every summer growing up. I would spend weeks with them.

Hornby Island

Hornby is an island filled with artists. Its beauty is unsurpassed. When I started going to Hornby there was only a population of 350 now the Island has become a tourist destination. So it has changed a lot but it is still a wonderful place.

The community is tight all helping each other get through the difficult times in life. They bring in movies and music to fill their minds and inspire them.

Hornby Island

There is a community store and gas station, also a choice of restaurants, none of which were there when I started going to Hornby.

When I first started going to Hornby it had barely any amenities which made it much more exotic to me. You could also sit on the large white sand beach without another soul. Now it is shared with many people and sail boats moored in the bay.

There are still many spots to sit alone and listen to the waves and birds. Hornby will always hold a special place in my heart for so many wonderful reasons.

Paris

From the first time I visited Paris and each time after that I have left part of my heart.
There is not much you can say about this horrible tragedy.
My heart is crying for the lives lost and for their families.

Flower's From the Heart

I am trying to start painting again so I am painting one flower at a time.
Here's the start of the series.

Street Gardens

In Bellingham there is a neighborhood called Columbia. It's a fun neighborhood to walk in because of all the vegetable gardens. You can see them because they are on the street either beside the sidewalk which makes it very tempting to pick and eat a tomato (I didn't, but boy was it tempting) or they are in the front yards. I think this is a wonderful use of space.

Facing Changes

Sometimes more often then not we have a hard time with changes, I know that's true for me.

What do you do with your wedding rings you still think are beautiful
and represent a very large part of your life which was definitely not all bad?

I'm finding this quote from Joseph Campbell helpful:

We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have
the life that is waiting for us.
