Paper Doll Christmas Tree

Once Upon A Time I Dreamed
is what I called my Christmas Tree

I was asked to put together a Christmas Tree for the Whatcom Museums "Old City Hall Holiday Extravaganza."

First I had to put together the tree since I had done a trial run at home,
the pom poms were already attached.

The little pom poms I hot glued onto wire and then twisted them around several branches.

For the garlands of words I cut out the letters from yellow card stock. Then I sewed the letters together on my sewing machine using matching thread. I made sure my spacing was correct by leaving more space between the words then between the letters.

I put the lights on before I started decorating.

Then the fun part putting on all the characters.

Now the gifts.

Here's the finished Tree. Even though it was small this tree took many, many hours to make.
It will be auctioned off to help raise money for the Museum .

There are 30 dolls each taking at least two and a half hours to make.

The whole project took me way more time then I expected.
When all was said and done the whole project took about ninety hours.
I get these grand ideas. That I truly can't afford time wise.
As an artist I lack time management and marketing. LOL.

Once the final step is complete this tree should bring lots of smiles and laughs to everyone who sees it.

The last step is up to the buyers of the tree. They will have to add their own personal touch
by placing family and friends faces onto each doll.

I also drew these ribbons for these packages. They are shown on an earlier blog.
I drew them for gifts that need to be mailed.

  1. You are so creative! I like the flat ribbons and bows. They are perfect for mailed packages. Good luck with your tree project. - Margy
